My first audio setup was cheap and cheerful. It included a DIY integrated amplifier (thanks Eric), turntable, and headphone. I didn’t have any room for speakers and music source was a lot simpler at that time. Digital music may not have even been invented or so unreachable. And Helen Reddy’s “I am women” was cool although I didn’t really understand its messages. Life was simple and good then.
I have always been a music lover although I may not even know myself. When I first discovered DAC and powered speakers for playing music from my laptop, I thought it was heaven. The Bowers & Wilkins speakers that I have in my car got me thinking about the possibility of good sound. And the clear vocal from a single McIntosh RS100 wireless speaker playing in an open space was just simply amazing. This was how my 一半發燒 journey started.
